Convergence is the general term that is used to describe how media has digitized -- such that the computer is being used more and more to access forms of media that were once traditionally accessed via separate/distinct devices.
In terms of academic fields that would border the fields of computers & media -- I taught a course for a program in Singapore called IEM - 'Information, Engineering, & Media'. And this might be one example of a program that integrates aspects of 'computers' and 'radio and television.' In Japan, I know of a 'department of computer and media engineering' at one university. Many of the academic programs are geared towards the 'gaming' media industries.
Perhaps if you could expand a bit on your question... it might help for the community to supply a more specific answer.
My view of the field of computer that connects radio and television is probably the mass media switches from analog to digital. There is also the evolution of digital media over the Internet, such as Blogs, RSS feeds, Podcast, and Mobile media. However, print media and outdoor media are still active nowadays.
