Hi everyone.
At the moment, I have synthesized g-C3N4 through thermal method, heating it with ramp during 3 hr up to 550° C. Now, i´m in the characterization phase but, i'm having issues with the Raman spectra. I have used the 538 nm and 785 nm laser (the Raman device doesn't have more lasers) but it seems did not work. The spectra doesn't show characterization bands like the reported in previous researches. I tried diluting the compound in water, but the outcome was the same. The g-C3N4 was characterized by FTIR sucessfully.
It's important to say that i have tried with different settings in the Horiba Xplora One. Anybody can give me some clues or advices of how I could get the right spectra?

Is it in the form of a powder?
When you say you tried diluting with water, is this a suspension?

After the synthesis, the sample remains solid, then I macerate the sample until powder.
Indeed, how you point, I formed a g-C3N4 suspension after 10 min of ultrasonication (for better mixing), but none of the outcomes it doesn't work for the characterization.
so - for the powder, it is best to focus onto it with high magnification - as you would to measure for example a silicon reference.
For the suspension, it it better to focus into it with a long focal length objective (x10), so that the focal depth is inside he suspension. You should be able to maximise your water signal, and then seeing your suspended material depends on the concentration.
