May I know how's your country scenario in terms of regulating functional food category? The current definition is 'Functional foods are foods that offer health benefits beyond their nutritional value.'
For those whose country is regulating or allowing registration of function food, I have a few questions:
1) Is there a limit of health claim they can make for 'functional food'?
2) What are the minimum regulatory requirements for registration of such finished products? (e.g types of quality data needed, efficacy studies? , safety/ toxicity studies?)
3) Is there any label difference when marketing with herbal/natural products or health supplements?
