i have downloaded dataset from virusshare.com but not able to read content of file. contagio has .apk samples which i dont want as it needs to reverse engineered.
i don't want to go for reverse engineering so want direct sample of data set of android malware.
try to get GNOME (http://www.malgenomeproject.org/) data set...better for Android Malware analysis. I have also used same....or you can refer my paper "Anti-Hijack: Runtime Detection of Malware Initiated Hijacking in Android" . you can download full text of that paper from my profile.

It looks like MalGenome project has suspended their support of downloading dataset. You may check Androzoo, (https://androzoo.uni.lu/), which is a well maintained and updated apk repository. Thay also provide API for accessing various data acees.
i do the same to you is download APK from virusshare, but i dont know to extract
