Hi everyone, this question relates to the presentation at conferences of results. I was wondering what is the recommended time to present our data, after we submit to a journal or once it’s published? Also, do you know alternative funding possibilities to attend conferences, like Conference Fund (www.conferencefund.com)?
Hi. Presenting primary data or original data has to be after you have evidence of ownership, so it can be after you submit your paper to a journal not before. Funding for conferences is becoming more stringent from outside sources. Relying on your own university is usually the source.
In the U. S., the two most common times to present results are either before you publish, in order to get potentially useful feedback, or while an article is under review, in order to hear things that might help with your eventual reviews.
In contrast, there is little point is presenting a published article, because anyone who is interested will already have access to it.
