Hi dears, i wonder if anyone could help me with making sense of some concepts.
1-Is permeability a complex quantity Simillar to permitivity??? If so, what is the physical meaning of each part. That is, Imaginary and real part of permeability?2- Is this quantity depend on frequency?? What cause to introduce it? Any need?
3- any model like lorentz (harmonic oscillator) exist??

Permeability is current/magnetic field /induction related phenomenon while permittivity is voltage/electric field/capacitance related phenomenon.
Mutually dependent upon material structure, composition and operating frequency as well.
yes...yes... they are two quantity simillar to each other just one related to electric and other to magnetic field and.....
nevertheless,I ,ve never seen any model for permeability or even necessity to introduce it as a frequency-dependant quantity so far. I want to know whether it is due to my narrow knowledge or ....maybe there is no need to assume this quantity as a complex one for explain phenomena!!!!
Inductance offered, by material could be depended on working point on B-H curve of material, or indirectly reluctance offered(permeability offered), as inductance is variation of flux with variation of current(L=do/di). Inductive reactance offered by material, in ohms, is also frequency dependent as Xl=2(pai)fL.
