Formazan crystals problem

I was trying to perform MTT assay on HEK293 cells. After addition of MTT reagent and incubation (1h) I wanted to remove medium. Formazan crystals did not stay at the bottom in wells. Is it a problem with cells? I did such an assay on B16 cells and everything went well. I will be appreciative for any feedback regarding the issue.
