I wanted do TEM analysis of gold nanorods which are prepared in CTAB. Do I need to get rid of the CTAB layer to prevent burning of the sample under high voltage (200kV). If so, kindly suggest the proper procedure for the sample preparation. Will UV-Ozone clean help?

if CTAB is the stabilizing agent in your Au nano, then removing CTAB will lead to aggregation of your Au nano. If it just media in which you have prepared Au nano, then you can change media by Centrifuging Au nano at high RPM and re-dispersing in other media.
But changing media may affect the size and shape of your Au nano and in some cases may also lead to aggregation.
if the purpose of your TEM analysis is to observe the shape and coating of the Au nano, then i would suggest LRTEM for that purpose and for the metal fringes you can use HRTEM, where if your organic media will burn but wont affect you metal nano.

Your nanoparticles are distributed in size. STАB gives a very small contribution to the increase in nanoparticle size. Therefore, this does not affect the shape of the distribution curve. Oxidation also does not affect the shape of the curve. Any experiment is accompanied by a measurement error.
