Best desorbent may be EDTA. However the concentration depend upon various parameters such as type of plants and heavy metals. It is not necessary EDTA will be sufficient elluent for the extraction of all trace elements present in plant. In addition to EDTA it is good to make observation with other reagents also. Such selection may be trial and error and finally yield basis. This is a good topic and may provide very valuable information. Good luck.
