If the polymer sample is prepared in fresh tube well water, after injection, it will be in contact with reservoir formation water. So, for polymer evaluation purpose should we consider reservoir salinity? If yes, what should be considered TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) or salinity as NaCl?

If a supplier recommend 1000 ppm polymer concentration for a polymer flood project whether we should measure the viscosity of that polymer solution at reservoir temp, reservoir TDS and at particular shear rate, say 14 S-1 as a part of performance evaluation or we should simply consider the injection water salinity at reservoir temperature and shear rate.
