I performed flow cytometry on the spleen and peripheral blood of NOD/SCID mice and BALB/c mice, but the proportion of NK cells in NOD/SCID mice is increased. Does anyone know why?
NOD/scid mice lack both T and B lymphocytes, so the proportion of NK in both spleen and peripheral blood will be higher.
Be aware that NOD/scid mice have a very different MHC [called H2 in mice] allele than BALB/c mice, which are H2^d. I don't remember the H2 allele of NOD mice. That difference can affect your results.
