Hello,

I'm working on a simulation environment compromised of manipulation tasks going from gradually less to more complex, as such I was wondering of a metric that could give me the index of difficulty for each manipulation task, particularly I'm wondering if Fitts's Law (Index of Difficulty) is applicable to me.

All scenarios share the same idea, move a 3D cube/sphere/cylinder from starting position S to target position T though the use of an optical hand tracking device.

Please see attached figure. The figure represents a 2D perspective of the 3D world from an upper view. The task is for the user to pick up the cube from S and place it on T of width Wt with an in-between distance of D. While from what I understand the Index of Difficulty is applicable to acquisition scenarios, I wonder if my case would also fall within this category. You can also see on the figure (bottom left) the 3D actual perspective of the scenario.

Thank you in advance for your input! :)
