Theoretically speaking, the dissipation reaction constant (k) and half-lives are independent with the concentrations. But the half-life of pesticides is usually correlated with their application rate describing that the concentrations may be affecting the dissipation reactions. Are there any explanations? CIte references for help. Thank you in advance.
Indirectly. For example, high concentration of same pesticide is a more toxic for soil, plants, bacteria and others then low, and has another behavior and relationship with others compounds.
In principle, the application rate and the dissipation DT50 are not correlated. However, there could be factors that are dependent on the application rate (especially if this gets very high). For instance, if the dissipation would be driven by biodegradation there could be a limit to the degradation capacity, the same if the applied pesticide is toxic to the microorganisms that are responsible for the degradation.
