There are many useful web-based applications (website builders), which can be used also for creating personal digital portfolios. The results are presented in a form of web sites, usually stored on servers of providers. The majority of them are costs-free if we decide for a basic/entry level of services. 

We use some of free website builders for creating personal digital portfolios of design students/creatives (Wix, IM Creator, Weebly, Portfoliobox). Looking for experiences of other users/platforms, also related to mobile devices' optimisations.
