SMED technique is a methodology to study the die changing process? Someone have examples over differents types of dies? In Forging, stamping, bending, and metal casting processes?
Actually SMED is not focusing on tools or die changing. It is more on the steps or stages to reduce waste, reduce setups which will lead to setup time reduction.
The fundamental of SMED is eliminating the time wasted in changeover process as the equipment or machine is running as usual by identifying and simplifying the activities done before, during or after the changeover process and streamlining the remaining activities for smoothening the production flow.
