The European football championship, Euro 2024, starts today. The Norwegian Computing Center have also this time calculated winner probabilities for all teams. These are so far based on a regression analysis of the match results from the six last European championships and FIFA rankings, to estimate the relationship between match results and FIFA ranking, the advantage of playing in own country and a smaller separate effect for each team that have played at least four of the last six Euro-s. The probabilities will be updated after each match according to the match results. This is just for demonstrating the fun of statistics. Everything is found here:
