first make up your grid as a vector layer, each having a polygon area with a grid code attribute. If the raster of your built-up area has contineous value, reclassify so that built-up area has one and others have zero value; then convert your raster of the buildup area into a vector layer by `conversion>raster to vector` tool. then use the grid you created to intersect with the built-up vector polygon. you can then merge the area using the gridcode attribute.
@Gaurav Atreya Thank you do much for the answer. But I have some more doubts. I have made the grid in ArcGis using shapefile of my study area with the tool Data driven pages in Cartography. Also I have the classified image of my study area . I have performed the reclassification on the classified image and 5 land uses were recorded to 1to 5.
1.Can you please tell me how to reclassify buildup as 1 and others as 2?
2.How to divide the study area into different quadrants like NW, SW? SE, SW , N,S,E,W etc?
