One of the major element which should be taken care while understanding any heritage space, is what the space means to the people of the same locality. Do they consider it as a heritage, or a valuable asset or it is purely from the view of spectator. Most of the times in context of Heritage or monuments, the space is believed to be Heritage and important for everyone without asking what it means to them. It might not mean anything at all, or might be a partial source of income for them, or would be just a headache due to lot of public around
Its future expected age if left alone on its own and the expected age if taken care of, to begin with.Who wants it restored or maintained?
Its past significance for at least the local people and will it continue to be as significant or not if left alone or not taken care of? Or will the maintenance and/or restoration will change how people perceive the past.
Do they want to see the original or changed version?
