If employers in global are stating that they are providing equal opportunity, then whats the point in asking personal details such as gender, ethnicity etc
Technically - I do not know to what extent this is truly done this way - the equal opportunities form in job applications is kept separate from the rest of the application, so that this information does not influence the recruiters' final decision on who to employ. However, collecting this data makes sense because it enables companies to keep track of how effective their inclusive policies are.
