Hi all,

I am dealing with an issue regarding the image processing software ENVI 5.5.

I am trying to perform a change detection analysis (difference maps) on LST maps, and NDVI maps for a range of years in a semi-arid biome in Brazil (Caatinga). I have quite a few missing data values in my maps, and assumed that ENVI would treat them as such i.e. yield NaN or No Data values for pixels upon change detection. However, instead it treats them as zeros. If for example I have a pixel that is NaN in 2003 and the same pixel has an NDVI of 0.6 in 2004, and I run a change detection, the resulting map marks the difference as 0.6.

Does anyone have advice on how I could rectify this?

I noticed that the same happens with simple band math: the No Data values are treated as zeros instead of being ignored.

I'd be grateful for any ideas,

Cheers!
