I second Ramon, what do you want to optimize? Energy/ha; cost/ha; profit/ha (in that case you need to analyze the entire value chain). Are you interested in social and environmental impacts or only in the economics?

What is the scope? Feedstock production or a part of a value chain or from feedstock production to end use?

Maybe my question was very large, so my request is:

There is a many papers have treated the energy used estimation of some crop for some region (I am meaning here the inputs and outputs energy) in order to determine the energetic balance

but they didn't release the optimization of this energy (if there is inefficiency), so there are methods to optimize this energy? If yes, please let me known!!!!
