The German political scientist Herfried Münkler calls for a nuclear armament in Europe. The Russian war of aggression against Ukraine has disavowed the policy of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. The example of North Korea proves: “You can only be invulnerable when armed to the teeth.” Around two-thirds of the readers of this NTV article agree with this view. However, sooner or later Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkey would also have nuclear weapons. Does such a development threaten peace or just dramatically increase humanity's overkill?

This is a very interesting and important question which actually challenges existing values and principles, here it is the principle of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, that western countries were associated with. When we look into the past, we will notice that it was western countries that always initiated disarmament programs. Therefore this question might be even about values among international community, namely whether the existing values, here in the form of the principle of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons disavowed?

However, I think we need to keep a cool head. International relations are in the stage of friction right now. It is not the best moment for making a radical decision unless I am wrong.
End of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons? That, I believe, ended up with the proliferation of nuclear weapons to Pakistan and North Korea. Pakistan can be considered a hidden threat, in the event of a radical wing seizing power. Iran's acquisition of nuclear weapons can be considered a matter of time if they do not already possess them.
