I have been looking at reports of researchers claiming to have loaded water soluble salts such as sodium carbonate in different carriers and capsules. I've been thinking about the possible mechanism that can allow such a feat, specifically in cases where the salt is in solution with the carrier and is then loaded (e.g vacuum loading). Would the salt recrustalize after drying? What about carriers such as halloysite nanotubes where different surfaces possess opposite charges. It's logical to assume that the ions would bind to different surfaces. In that case, can one claim to have loaded the salt in the nanotube? Is it just semantics?

Looking forward to your views on this matter.
