Dear, everyone

my name is ferdinand

I want to ask about the potential given to the cell

Fe2++ 2e- >> Fe                   E0 = 0,34 V

Al3++ 3e-  >> Al                     Eo= -1.66 V

I arrange Fe as anode, Al as cathode.

as i know that the Eo will be Eo= -1.22 V.

to make the reaction occur I supposed to set the potential higher than 1.22 Volt. but I only adjust the potential to 1 V.

did i do it wrong?

did the anode (Fe) still can dissolve into the system?

I arrange that configuration (Fe-Al as Anode-Cathode) because I need to get Fe2+ in the solution and i only have Al and Fe electrode.

thank you
