PV cells and systems of higher efficiency is being developed. How can we replace the existing plant of solar cell of lower efficiency with the plants of higher efficiency at minimal cost loss?
I am not convinced with replacing the less efficiency cells with higher efficiency cells. I could be more convinced with erecting a new station to work in parallel with the old one. IT is so now that the prices of all components of the PVG are lowered.
Any how, to answer your question, the phot voltaic generator is composed of components, then you keep all the components except the PV array.
Then you have to choose the new PV array such that it has the same specific actions of the old array. Consequently, the new array must the Im, Vm , and Pm to be connected directly two the existing dc to dc converter. It is also required to keep the size of the modules the same to use the same old mounting frames and cables.
the best thing must do it that you can improve the old plant by minimum cost, the challenge that improve the old otherwise replace it with low cost, you can apply concentration method to increase irradiation on solar cells, the efficiency will increase by using some mirror and lens take in consideration the cooling air to ventilate solar cells from high temperature result from concentration.
