If we make a pallet of bulk material and another pellet of nanowires of same material after applying very high pressure so that the surface of nanopallet become smooth. Now I want to know that still we will experience high surface area in case of pellet made from nanomaterial?
I believe that in this scenario the temperature matters a lot. For example, you may have used technique like Spark Plasma Sintering and heated the nanopowder as well as applying the pressure, there is a possiblity that your nanopowders get melted and loose their "quantum" effect. But if there wasn't any melting during the pelletization, i expect that some nanowires shall get merged with each other because of the applied pressure and a porous surface may be produced. Still in this case, the surface area shall be higher than the bulk pellet.
But in this whole case a lot of things are important like material thermophysical properties of nanopowder and applied pressure etc.

I have done this experiment in my case. I have got two different BET surface area values. Hence I have concluded that after pallet formation at very high pressure there is the change in surface area.

Now another question is, if we make 2 pallets of nanomaterials only under different pressure then the pallet obtained at high pressure will have less surface area than the pallet obtained after applying more pressure...?
