I plan to use complex network analysis methods to investigate psychiatric disorders. Most researchers have used FMRI data to construct brain network. I wonder if it is possible to use EEG as well
and if so, what s the advantageous and disadvantageous of using EEG in comparison to fMRI?
Both may be necessary. I consider the EEG Mapping (at rest or on stimulation, the EEG Spectral Reaction Mapping) superior; it reflects the very function of the brain, fMRI reflects simply oxigen consumption by brain structures. There's no 'superiority' between EEG and fMRI (Dan Michael Psatta). EEG has fast timescales and records electric activity, but has practically no spatial resolution. FMRI has slow timescales and records blood-oxygenation related signals (BOLD) but has a remarkable spatial resolution.
You may want to deepen the study of both these techniques before choosing. Your choice will depend on your objectives.

So you think EEG is better for brain network analysis?
The reason I considered FMRI was its high spectral resolution in comparison to EEG and therefore I thought it represents brain network better. Is n't it true?
