For a moment, just assume, IoT and CPS domains are the same. There are two levels and perspectives of security. First, the security of participating lean nodes/sensors/actuators, which calls for lightweight authentication protocols such as KMAP. Also, transport layer communication security is offered through TLS. Second, the security of (sensed) data itself that may be residing inside the edge computing infrastructure. However, edge computing facility can be placed as firewall (between the hardware and the Internet connectivity) of the IoT/CPS network to prone the communication interactions in an attempt to catch the malicious attacks.

Dr. Shahzad, can you give me some use case (existed currently) scenarios of edge computing. And your definition for CPS and IoT, how they are differ?

This is to share with you some experts’ reply on one of my questions:
1. How CPS & IoT differs?
IoT is a communication infrastructure where CPS could be part of it.
i.e.:
CPS is a system composed of physical and digital entities (Dr. Ernesto Damiani 's Definition), like Chip Cards.
So, CPS become an IoT if its connected to the internet or other communication services for communication purposes.
But when we talk about IoTs in general, both words can be used interchangeably. (because IoTs were CPSs before they joined the IoTs communication infrastructure).
