SrS thin films at varied Ce concentration are prepared by electron beam evaporation method. The V-I curve for one of the films shows diode character. Will this be useful for storage of solar energy in any way?
A rectifying effect is necessary but not sufficient to qualify a semiconductor material to be a successful candidate for a solar cell.
The material must satisfy the following requirements to be used in solar cells
-The material must have an optimum band gap around the pea value of the conversion efficiency of about 1.35 eV
- it must have high absorption coefficient for the solar radiation
- Easily doped to either p or n type doping
- Builds good ohmic contacts with metal electrodes
So, to judge one has to fully characterize the material.

Hello Sir !! Definitely this can be useful in solar photovoltaics as V-I curve shows diode characterization. SrS/CeO2 is a very good combination for photovoltaics.
