Now a days the so called Impact Factors have achieved much more importance in the case of scientific publications; Does the IF reflect the value of publication in terms of scientific content / contribution or is it more related to business interests or any other hidden agenda of journals / publishers?

Yes but now a days many high impact factor journals charging very high which leads some researchers to publish their work which is valuable with excellent contents in journals which publish free or charging less so in my opinion its the content what we have to look for not the impact only
Hi,
I strongly believe that any point factor will never justify your research work. While the quality of work determine by your efforts and how well you represents. I have seen several times (probably I'm wrong) research work which is even not published in good impact factor journals are also very inspired work.
However, research work should never judge by impact factor. Probably it create some kind of illusions or discrimination among researchers. It should based on how the work technically implemented or feasible for it.
Theoretically , it should be. Unfortunately, it doesn't necesarily reflect the quality of the published works.
