Recently I am doing tests using TGA, the sample includes fabrics. From literature, some don't dry thoroughly to keep moisture, some dried and kept sample in Drierite, some dried and then cured in even higher temperature. So:
1. What and how much effect would the drying precondition have? like the pyrolysis temperature?
2: What's the purpose of curing sample in higher temperature in preconditioning?

If a certain chemical compound is investigated surely the sample should be dried. In the case of a material it should be investigated as such, in most cases,
In my opinion, in general, the materials should be dried, before the TGA analysis. Despite of this statement there is also some exceptions.

1. A. Yes, I agree the release of moisture happen around 100 oC and you can easily eliminated it or recognize it on the TGA curve.
-The precondition time in general don't effect the pyrolysis temperature (maximum degradation temperature). May be this would have effect if it is your pyrolysis temperature is around 100-150 oC
-You should carefully select the drying temperature depending on your sample sensitivity.
- In all cases you should describe in the future article or work the used the sample preparation procedure before the TGA analysis.
- Some materials are highly gyroscopic and the drying preconditioning before TGA do not have any sense.
2. Q. What's the purpose of curing sample in higher temperature in preconditioning?
2. A. What do you mean with "higher temperature".? You should be more detailed about sample structure and/or origin in order adequate answer concerning the process of sample curing in preconditioning stage.
2. A. I agree with, the previous answer. In case you do not dry before TGA, the measured sample weight is lower comparing to absolutely dry sample. Depending how lower it is, the TGA curve obtained may be less intense and the transitions observed may be more flat.

Thank you so much for everyone. Because for fabrics, the moisture is below 5% and it can absorb moisture in seconds after drying. And I see people have really different preconditioning methods so I want to search for a 'standard'.
Now it looks for my studied fabrics both is ok if the preparation is described detailed like Dr.Natalia Valentinova Toncheva-Moncheva mentioned because it's chemical stable and test shows no significant difference between different drying conditions.
