Take a brittle object like ceramic. Grinding of the ceramics involve various diamond grit sizes along with various bond types. I wonder what ever the Grit and Bond type being used, there will be some residual stress adding up on to it. I wonder this residual acquired in that material is directly proportional to its after-ground geometry??
To be simple: The more complex its ground-after geometry, the greater its acquired residual stress.
Explanations are welcomed. Please educate me.
