I'm currently studying the nervous system in details and I wanted an exact answer to the rate of transferring the signals. Moreover, if it is different in the white matter, does that affect the brain's function ? and does that has a relationship to the parts of the brain that has white matter and their functions ?

the rate of transferring signals is same , as it is an integrated network , all in one.... so it is calculated in totality of white and grey matter . in the actual brain... white and grey matter work simultaneously , so with the same transfer rates...
Well from the basic information I know that the myline sheath increases the rate of transmitting the electric signals throughout the neuron from the cell body till the synaptic terminals. In the grey matter there is no myline sheath, so I guess the rate of transmitting the signal will be slower. My question is, is there a significant change in this rate ? And does this difference in the rate has a relationship with the different areas in the brain with the grey and white matter and the functions that these areas control
