Do you believe your intelligence level and choices of profession are affected by the month of your birth? Some research evidence saying so may be unbelievable for you.
I am surprised none of my RG friends have an opinion on the subject. The question is simple. : is there a relationship between the time of the year in which one is born and their intelligence level. Happy weekend Maham Muzamil , Segun Michael Abegunde , Nazia Asad
Season (month) of birth is associated with nutritional status in food insecure societies. Even in developed countries like Australia and Denmark the life expectancy is influenced by season of birth (Doblhammer, G., & Vaupel, J. W. (2001). Lifespan depends on month of birth. Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 98(5), 2934-2939.)
As nutritional status is associated with intelligence, so season of birth may be an effect modifier of intelligence (although I don't know about any study).
I was born on May 1st and it interest you to see this "People born specifically on the 1st of May are believed to be strong willed and ambitious but more laid back and assertive than most bulls. May 1 natives embody their goals and strive to meet them. Yet as serious as they appear to be, they have little interest in achieving success. They want to live up to their potential and see if others do the same. If you were born on this day, the May 1st birth date meanings suggest that you are persistent and full of life. There is no energy wasted wondering what people are tweeting or posting about you. You know your role and you have what it takes to accomplish what you set out to do. If you are musically inclined, your creativity and charm could make you an energetic performer. You remain youthful throughout life, with a mischievous quality that is unmistakable".
I do not believe in horoscopes and astrologists, nor do I believe that my intelligence level and choice of profession were affected by the month of my birth. Why should this to be the case? I believe that my intelligence level and choice of profession has more to do with my biological heritage and the socio-cultural milieu in which I was born and grew up than the day of my birth.
My colleagues who do not believe, I am with them as far as my personal beliefs are concerned. I just came across some piece of research that said there is an association.
The knowledge of personality is not easy and straightforward. However, many people resort to knowing their personalities in ways that can not be fully trusted, such as knowing one's personality through the date of birth, but this is a form of ignorance, astrology, and humiliation; It is not a science based on clear evidence, and the disregard of people's minds.
I think that this dependence is. But no one has set himself the task of proving it scientifically using mathematics. In the universe, mathematics controls all processes, but we still do not know everything. Therefore, we often say "how God will give".
Every person is born with a specific mission. Therefore he cannot be born on any given day. He will be born on the day that is needed to fulfill his mission. And if he has to discover some new law (like Newton, etc.), then he will be born on a certain day and only then will he have the intellect for such an opening.
I prefer to believe in science than in superstion and horoscopes. Unfortunately many people all over the world prefer to go to charlatains, such as astrologists and parapsychologits than to physicians, psychologists, and the like.
I do not know if some colleagues will say that this issue is coming out of the science field ?! I do not think so. It says nothing is accidental in life! I'm looking at things like this. I was born in February - "Children of the Future" ... There are three more waterfowl in my dear family and they are all world champions in their fields ... Now, tell me it's a coincidence? I was also successful in sports. By chance, I missed my world career in swimming. I'm passionate in science. The answer is YES!
This is another name for astrology. I do not work with it because it cannot be tested. Years back astrology showed the day I lost my father as my lucky day .My answer to the question is no, it does not.
This kind of discussion is centering on pseudoscience. Gullible people often succumb to such claims. A body of knowledge claiming to be both factual and scientific but lacking empirical evidence, consistency with existing well-established scientific theories and laws, experimental accessibility, and falsifiability ( Read, Karl Raimund Popper) can be considered as pseudoscience. Most pseudo-scientific theories are just statements of faith!
The significant difference between scientific theories and pseudoscientific theories is that the former theories are treated as falsifiable whereas the latter are immunized against falsification by various strategies designed to make them immune to refutation. For example, astrological predictions are so vaguely expressed that whatever happens could be interpreted as confirming them!
If the assertion is without supporting evidences, contradicts with experimentally established facts, or fails to provide an experimental possibility of reproducible results, there is no other option but to dismiss it as pseudoscience.
Slavoljub Hilčenko , @Adedibu Sunny Akingboye , @Hayder Al-Saeidi, Oluwaseun A. Otekunrin , @Abimbola Ogunyele , Zin Eddine Dadach , thank you all colleagues for your time to participate in this discussion.
Stating that something is true does not make it true. Stating that "scientific evidence" exists will only convince the gullible. Where is this "evidence"?
My wife and I are both Libras. Libras are supposed to weight both sides of everything. I tell my wife, this sounds like Libras are "wishy-washy," unable to make up their minds about anything. Which is why I always fight my Libra tendencies. Consequently, wishy-washy won't apply to me. There. Disproving what astrologists claim.
It is surely non-scientific, but many people (in particular, women) love tarot, a fortune teller, and so on. I am sometimes surprised at a high accuracy rate. I guess that the tendency exists even though it is not individually specific.
'Intelligence' is via 'Imagination' is affected by 'DNA' & 'Birth' place and date Implicitly
'Entropy in population is driving force that reinforce Intelligence with some of the inhabitants'
Eg., 'Einstein' is ideal 'Genius' & 'Intelligence' of 'Einstein' not only by 'Education' but also by 'Nazi' of 'German' forced him to perform via 'Imagination'
'Buddha' Spirituality enlightened planet is via consistent 'Imagination' & segregation from inhabitants, absolutely correct as per my belief.
The environment, genetics, the family, the method of learning and the composition of personality are the relevant factors for level of intelligence and choice of profession, not the date of birth
I must confess that this is not a research topic but no, not at all. I will not allow astrology in my life by any means. God directs my destiny not other creatures of His like moon and stars, and how about the ground, rivers and lakes and clouds? No.
I think it does, the easiest way to find out is to get people born same month and day with you and check their profession and work-life. It will marvel you to know that a very strong positive relationship exist.
