Dear all,

I have some curiosity concerning the leaf fall and regeneration mechanism in deciduous trees. We already know that Ethylene gas plays a vital role in enhancing the leaves to fall during autumn, I presume however that during the spring period that the trees maximize in producing Auxins to enhance leaf regeneration. Are these processes entirely dependent on Climate seasons? If yes, do you think climate changes might have an effect on the cycle of leaf fall and regeneration?

Finally, can the knowledge of leaf abscission be used in agriculture to enhance fruit drop when mature?
