You ask the followinh: Does the E-learming apps and website have actually helped the students to perform better in their acadamics?
As I see it, E- learning represents an additional form of learning. There was a time where only, say, traditional education were the case. E-learning is also an opportunity to have more students involved in learning. I am not sure, however, that if it helps students to perform better in their academic learning. Note that online information cannot be updated. In addition to this, E-learning happens without classrooms, that is, is learning without the traditional classrooms with teachers and students. Learning without the effective presence of teachers and students do not allow, for exemple, to have real interactions between peers and professors. This means that E-learning can be a double sword, On the one had, E-learning, democratizes education, which is good news. On the other end, it may be a kind of affective desert because classrooms are empty. I see a big difference between direct interaction or online interaction. As for me, the ideal would be that E-learning did not dispense with some traditional classes, or classes composed of students and teachers.
In my experience, the answer is yes. I have found that it improves students' writing skills, discourages plagiarism, and encourages attendance in class (assuming one uses E-Learning to keep track of attendance and allows students to see their attendance records and the impact it makes on their grade with each login).
