I am in the processes of looking at and explaining some soil geochemistry data. I am seeing higher concentrations of Ti in topsoil in comparison to subsoils and parent material. I understand that Ti is generally thought of as an immobile element (with some exceptions). Would the process of weathering be responsible for the higher concentration in topsoil, though the process of negative enrichment (i.e., most other elements will move down the soil profile). If anyone could provide some references on the vertical distribution of Ti in soils that would be appreciated.
