Currently the infection rate of covid-19 patient is increasing alarmingly. Death toll is also increasing in the same way. The current situation of this disease is probably called as the second wave of the pandemic. Now the question is, does the attacking pattern of covid-19 will be the same in its first and second wave of infection?
At this point daily reported death involving COVID_19 are lower than they were during the initial peak,this doesn't necessarily mean the virus has changed or itis became less dangerous,we don't have evidence that the virus became any less fatal there fore,we must prepare for chance that this second wave may be just as sever or even worse than the first

It is somewhat frightening to see in the attached diagram that the second wave of COVID-19 is much higher than the first one!
Dear Dr AZAD-- the term 'wave' is a misnomer , it ought to be replaced by 'surge' which is more meaningful . Polemics , apart, how can there be a second wave when the first hasn't been adequately quelled . I have been following this scourge since it started. The first wave was registered when the US , Europe and Brazil and India and Iran in Asia suffered huge casualties . Remedial measures led to preventive measures , the SOPs et al ; further several countries enforced total LDs , partial LDs et al --these steps led to a fall in the transmission and therefore a reduction in fatalities , but the VIRUS NEVER WAS ERADICATED!! Later , in order to keep life gong and squaring up on the eternal debate of Livelihood vs Life , the restrictions were eased . The LDs were lifted the SOPs were thrown out or at least scorned at in my country--lemmings the observers were called. This led to lightning speed transmission, the fatalities peaked more than when the virus initially attacked . The virus , meanwhile mutated . Please remember the virus is very patient when attacking the host. It will attack when the host is at its most vulnerable. The prolonged LDs and the sudden unleashing of human avarice knew no bounds. A mutated version of the virus now ravaged the susceptible human , hence the spike was re-achieved. There never was a flattening of the curve. So the first wave's virulence may have been curbed for the interim , but it was NEVER REDUCED to 0. When an opportunity was provided the virus made a mountain out of molehill . This is the re visitation of the First Wave with more turbulence, lethal ity and VENOM!! QED
