Certification is more to profesionals jobs.

For academic as teacher and lecturer certification will added practical knowledge to their theoritical knowledge.

But it doesnt meant that certification will teach better cause teaching is not all about measurement of practical knowledge also about passion.

I know some certification that you dont need to know the real practice only remembering answer to question that your going to be certified.

In US all school teachers need to have certification. Without that they will not be employed. They have to maintain the certification by going through some courses continuously every year. The B Ed program in India is meant for school teachers. University education rarely requires any certification anywhere in the world.

I think its better to have such certifications as they will help in clarifying cases from industry bases not just theoretically.

Dony Saputra Thanks for replying. Well, every exam has an objective to be achieved. If just a certificate is the objective then only mugging up would help but not for long run. I strongly agree with both Ra'ed (Moh'd Taisir) Masa'deh and Nageswara Rao Posinasetti as keeping oneself update with technology is always tough and very much required.

I have done some certifications for knowledge enhancements and have experienced a large change while presenting the concepts to my students. The fact that the teacher is tuned with latest technology know how is very much valued by the students. Thus, I strongly feel certification should also be considered at the time appraisals and appointments of teachers especially at Post graduate level and wherein the subject is practical oriented.

i also feel certification should be taken into account when doing appraisals or new recruitment's .
