Does steatosis significantly influence liver stiffness determined by 2D shear wave elastography ?

It is not clear whether severity of steatosis is a significant determinant of liver stiffness kPa and or m/sec by real time 2D shear wave elastography in general population and/or disease. Is there any corrective factor that we can use to correct stiffness values determined by 2D SWE for steatosis severity determined by US?

Its the presence of hepatic fibrosis and steatosis which will influence the stiffness, The M probe can help correct for these factors and has been validated in use within subjects with a high BMI
