I've been using PLB at final concentration of (60mM Tris pH 6.8, 2% SDS, 10% Glycerol, and 5% Beta Mercaptoethanol).
the 1X concentration of others are as follows:
SDS Sample Buffer (50mM Tris pH 6.8, 2% SDS, 10% Glycerol, 1% Beta Mercaptoethanol, and 12.5 mM EDTA)..
Laemmil Sample Buffer (60mM Tris pH 6.8, 2% SDS, and 10% Glycerol)
I believe all buffers mentioned have .02% bromophenol blue.
It seems like the only significant variables here are the: presence, absence, or concentration of beta mercaptoethanol or EDTA. Would either of these have an effect on transfer of low molecular weight proteins?
