I have some data about attraction some Malachiidae by caryophyllene alcohol. But I don't know about effectiveness. Does anyone has an experience in this?
I know a reference by Flint et. al 1981using Caryophyllene alcohol to attract males of Collops vittatus (Coleoptera: Melyridae) in cotton fields. Also Caryophyllene was found to be a major volatile component in the odor of cotton and was attractive to the boll weevil Anthonomus grandis (Coleoptera: Curculionidae). Please find attached more information in this paper.
