I'm trying to prepare GUVs using the phase-transfer method but apparently I'm getting residual oil entrapped in the bilayer. Did anyone manage to overcome this? Basicaly, I'm following the protocol described in Elani et al. ( Measurements of the effect of membrane asymmetry on the mechanical properties of lipid bilayers).
