At different depth of soils, normal stress changes. Soil suction affects the shear strength. But, I was wondering if the soil suction changes with depth or normal stress.

Stress and suction in the volume change of unsaturated expansive soils

Thanks Mohannad
I will read it.
Best regards

Depends on the degree of saturation. If the degree of saturation changes with depth then obviously the suction will change too.
Thanks Madhusudhan for your advice.
Much appreciated.
It varies with stress or it can named here pressure. The soil suction is a function of hydraulic conductivity, pressure and saturation.

I am working on cohesion and friction angle of different types of soils. The shear strength of coarse-grained soils are different from that of fine-grained soils.
