Please advise where am i going wrong??
I am trying to synthesize PVDF films using diff solvents from ratios of 1 to 40 wt%, so far the films are being developed by NIPS and TIPS method as stated in literature. The film is good strong, free standing and well formed, i am employg this film for desalination purpose. I have successsfully used the Polymer matrix cover the VACNT surface and employed the same for desalination.But from this application point of view the % salt Rejection efficiency is not more than 35 % for Polymer+cnt composite and 29 % for only Polymer. Whereas the literature states almost 95-99.9 % efficiency for pvdf alone and dispersed additives/fillers within the pVDF matrix respectively.
Previous studies found that, the flux typically dependent on the type of the used carbon nanotube (CNTs) and their densities, where the vertically aligned carbon nanotube VACNT membrane development process has been described in detail and the experimental results have confirmed that the permeability of (VACNT) membranes increases with the density of the VACNT, while the salt rejection is almost independent of the VACNT density!
