I am extracting oxidized phosphatidylcholine from human plasma. The structure of these oxidized phosphatidylcholine was shown in figures.
I tried several methods used in previous studies. However these oxidized phosphatidylcholine can not be extracted completely and reproducibly . I want to know if they have the tendency to be absorbed on pp Eppendorf tubes OR glass vials?
How to avoid this?
Plastic vials might tend to act as reverse phase with respect to adsorption, while glass would be expected to act as silica gel. This can be tested by using standard solutions and testing the recovery, and seeing if the recovery changes with different solvents. Methanol or acetonitrile would be expected to release compounds from plastic tubes, while water is a strong solvent for silica, and expected to release compounds from glass.
