Yes, you can tune the optoelectric behavior of ZnO.

It can be tunable by altering the band edge position by doping or substituting with various elements.

Yes, the band gap of semiconductors ZnO is tuned by doping with metal( Pt , Pd , Cu , Ag , Au,..etc) or non-metal ( C, B,N ,S,F,…etc). You can get n-type semiconductor on doping with electron-rich atoms like N,and doping with electron-deficient atoms like B, you can get a p-type semi-conductor. On doping with such materials, optoelectronic behavior of ZnO might be tunable .
