I would like to hear your view based on the research I am currently involved in purification of crude oil from microalgae. I wonder if anyone could assist with my doubts in related to molecular distillation if is it enable to remove 100% hexane out of the sample.

Thanks a lot for the question. Distillation is a unit operation which can be used for liquid mixture separation using volatility difference of liquids. About the separation of hexane from microalgae crude oil. This mixture can be seperated in the following conditions:
-High volatility difference between components of liquid mixture,
-Absence of one or more azeotropes
-The liquid components are stable under the operating conditions of separation.
-Use optimum operating condition.
the separation can reach high purety value but not 100%.
The separation canuse distillation combined with other method.

Adel, what is the limit of the molecular distillation could be for the separation of hexane? You mentioned operation conditio, what would be the presumable figures (i.e. Temperatur & Pressure) ? Thanks.
