I did an acylation reaction on Kraft lignin to replace OH groups. After this reaction, I wanted to bleach the modified lignin with hydrogen peroxide. I mixed lignin with water and added sodium hydroxide to adjust the alkaline pH before dropping hydrogen peroxide. But, the problem is that modified lignin was not dissolved in water even I increased the concentration of sodium hydroxide solution. I want to ask if anybody has experience with this matter to share with me. I really appreciate your effort and attention.
