The number of Pharmaceutical companies are only providing opportunity only to Pharmacy Students not enrolling Biotech. The state and central Government does not consider new applied courses like biotechnology. If there is no government and private sector which does not provide a specific job for Biotech, then how can UGC recognize to conduct Biotech courses in the Institutions? Are they cheating the students?
All expected, biotech sector will give a boom. But still its in R&D level only. More employment will get only in the industrial sector. When the biotech products comes to industries, then Biotech people will get job. In pharma industries too, for fermentation they are prefering chemical engineers only.
If you see the B.Tech Biotechnology curruculum, they will study chemical engineering, to the core biotech subjects like genetic engineering and all... Still some thing is lacking..
So, Biotech passed out peoples were moving to the application sectors ie., food technology, environmental engineering, membrane processing. Job opportunies were available in the water treatment industries.
